A+ for Capitol Hill bank
October 19, 2009
By the Voice
The National Capital Bank of Washington recently became the only bank in the District to win an A+ rating for financial strength from thestreet.com for the second quarter of 2009.

The bank, which is headquartered on Capitol Hill, was founded in 1889 and has been managed by the Didden family for 120 years. The bank has $274 million in assets and operates a second location in Friendship Heights.

“This rating comes as a result of our commitment over many years to provide a superior capital cushion to protect our depositors’ money. It’s always rewarding to have this kind of acknowledgement for our efforts,” said James Didden, the bank’s president, in a news release.
